Retreat for Northern Prayer Groups

A Retreat initiated by the Bradford Prayer Group was held at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs, Dodding Green on Sunday, 2nd September,2012.  About thirty people attended from the northern prayer groups.  The morning session opened with Rosary followed by Adoration and Benediction.  An excellent testimony from Martin, a present member of the Community ended the morning session. In the afternoon two more testimonies were give one from David a past member who expressed his happiness at being free of addiction and who has been back in civilian life for five years.  Another testimony from his father outlined difficulties faced by parents of addicted relatives.  Both of these testimonies expressed gratitude for the wonderful effects which Cenacolo had on the family.  Next was a presentation about the Cumbrian Martyrs which provided opportunities reflection on the difficult times through which the House survived during the Middle Ages.  Mass, including an beautiful homily from Father Michael, ended a very spiritually rewarding day.  Everyone experienced generous hospitality from the boys.     (by Bernadette & Malcolm)
